MORI, THE ARTIST'S HABITAT

Premiere: World Premiere

Director: Shuichi Okita | 99min
Country: Japan
Genre: Art, Biographical, Drama, Nature

Based on an actual account, MORI, THE ARTIST'S HABITAT depicts one day in the twilight years of Morikazu Kumagai (aka Mori) one of Japan's most celebrated 20th century painters. Known as the "hermetic sage with a paintbrush" the artist barely left his 60-square-meter home for 30 years. Starring Tsutomu Yamazaki as Mori and Kiki Kirin as his loving wife, this heartfelt film is a meditation on life's simple joys, with a touch of magical realism for good measure.
